The curators of Cyberfest, Anna Frants and Elena Gubanova, gave the eleventh edition of the festival the title “Weather Forecast: Digital Cloudiness,” inviting audiences to view the changes in digital technologies as if they were changes in the weather.
At the opening held at the A. L. Stieglitz Academy, attendees came to check the artistic visibility and digital temperature. Among them were Leonid Frants, president of BigDataSolutions; artist Alexander Shishkin-Hokusai; curator Olesya Turkina; and many others.
Guests were inspired by the blend of architectural historicism and media art, even finding allusions to the films of Andrei Tarkovsky in the frantically swinging monkey from the piece “To Think the Unthinkable” by Italian artist Donato Piccolo.

Curators Anna Frants and Elena Gubanova titled the eleventh “Cyberfest” as “Weather Forecast: Digital Cloudiness,” inviting participants to perceive changes in digital technologies as akin to changes in the weather. At the opening at the A. L. Stieglitz Academy, attendees included BigDataSolutions president Leonid Frants, artist Alexander Shishkin-Hokusai, curator Olesya Turkina, and many others. Guests were inspired by the combination of architectural historicism and media art, even finding allusions to Andrei Tarkovsky’s films in the desperately swinging monkey from the work “To Think the Unthinkable” by Italian artist Donato Piccolo.
